Malaysia’s leading credit-reporting agency strengthens database management system with TmaxSoft

Malaysia’s leading credit-reporting agency, CTOS Data Systems, has chosen to migrate to Tibero, TmaxSoft’s relational database management system (RDBMS), with TmaxSoft Singapore.

CTOS collects credit information for individuals and businesses in Malaysia from a wide range of public domain and proprietary sources. It therefore places a premium on the ability to rapidly process and analyse large volumes of transactional data, events, and actions in a secure manner. It will be working with TmaxSoft to implement the Tibero RBDMS for its core business application, “CTOS Credit Manager”. TmaxSoft is working with Mason Technologies, a professional services provider for database management, on the project.

The CEO of CTOS, Eric Chin, commented on its choice of TmaxSoft: “To be successful and maintain our leading position in the credit reporting industry, we needed a strategic database partner that can help us easily scale on demand without sacrificing reliability and cost. We have selected TmaxSoft, with their innovative technology Tibero, as our trusted partner as it offers us greatest flexibility and cost efficiency.”

CTOS found that Tibero would reduce TCO by 60% compared with alternative sources, whilst efficiently enabling continued use of CTOS’s existing system resources. Its compatibility with current database products such Oracle, Microsoft SQL and IBM DB2 should also be a source of improved performance.

The win comes as TmaxSoft continues to develop a strong presence in the ASEAN region, with several other client wins including a major telco in Thailand, a government entity in Malaysia, and several Singapore institutions.
